1. Pick a color you want for your Pony's Body. If your Pony is white, you might and to use a darker shade a white like a light gray.

2. Start coloring the body, don't worry if you go outside the line.

3. Once you have colored the body, use your eraser and all color outside the lines or you can use your Polugona Lasso tool and highlight all the color outside the lines including Hair,Symbols,Eye's and press "Ctrl+X" to cut.

4. On your Layers Pallette, add a new Layer and name it "Color 2" and the Mode "Multiply"

5. Pick a color for the hair.

6. Lock Layer "Color 1" so you don't accidentally color on it.

7. On your Layer "Color 2" color the hair, don't worry about going outside the lines.
If the hair is the same color as the body (like mine), you could turn Layer "Color 1" off so it'll be easier to see what your coloring and it'll also make it easier to see what you'll be erasing.

8. Once your done, erase the color or colors on the outside of the line.

9. On your Layers Pallette, add a new Layer and name it "Color 3" and the Mode "Multiply"

10. Pick a color for the Symbol and eyes.

11. Lock Layer "Color 2" so you don't accidentally color on it.

12. Color the eyes and symbols.

13. When your done Lock layer "Color 3"

Your done with the basic color or colors. Now your ready to star shading

Save your art before you start shading.

14. Change the Opacity on Layer "Pony" to 100% (You have to unlock it to change it)

15. When your shading, decide where your sunlight is coming from.

16. Unlock your Layer "Color 1"

17. Start burning the color to dark, where you might think the sunlight won't touch.
The Smudge tool can be useful and so can your Exposure, I usually leave it at 50% to 80%

18. Once your done with the Burn Tool, pick Dodge Tool to lighten the areas where you might think the sunlight will touch.
If your pony is white you'll have to lighten most of the body.

19. When your done with the Dodge tool lock the Layer and unlock Layer "Color 2"

20. Now your going to start on the hair which isn't quite that easy to do, it'll take time so I hope your patient.
Get your Burn tool, use a small brush and stroke the hair where you think dark strains may be. And also, don't forget to darken the color, where you might think the sunlight won't touch
Don't worry if you can't do straight lines. ^_^

21. When your done, use the Dodge tool and do the samething that you did on 7 and 8

22. When your done lock the Layer and unlock Layer "Color 3"21. Use the Smudge Tool. This can be fun to do.
Use a small brush, Strength and be from 50% for 100%
Smudge all the Burn color. Stroke the brush in the direction of the hair lines.
Be careful not to smudge the color outside the lines.

23. When your done lock the Layer and unlock Layer "Color 3"

24. Use your Burn and the Dodge Tool on the eyes and symbol. You should not have to use the Smudge Tool.

25. When your completely done you can Flatten the Layer.
If you want, before you flatten the Layer you can play with the The "Levels" Ctrl+L

You can color any art work, it doesn't have to be a My Little Pony. I've done this on other drawings, such as my other website and on VCL.
You can even do Grass and trees the same way you did the hair.
